MEN’S DOUBLES WOMEN’S DOUBLES MIXED DOUBLES 4-PERSON UNISEX TEAM
18+ – 3 players maximum per team; 2 on court 18+ – 3 players maximum per team; 2 on court 18+ – 2 players per team; 1 man and 1 woman 18+ – 6 player maximum per team; 4 on court
The refereeing: All games will be officiated by qualified referees.
The responsibilities of the referee: The referee should be positioned at one end of the net with a clear view of both sides of the court. It is the responsibility of the referee to call all faults and resolve all disputes including anything not covered by the rules. (Some calls, such as net violations, touches, and ball in or out of bounds, are sometimes considered honor calls, but the referee must still make the call on any violations that he/she sees.)
The referee must answer questions regarding rules or decisions if the questions are asked in a respectful manner and not done repeatedly in an attempt to delay the game. Only the team captains can talk to the referee.
The referee’s decision is final on all judgment calls. The Sport Coordinator should be consulted for any disputes not resolved by the referee. The referee must keep the score count.

Basic medical supplies, including a first aid kit, will be provided by the Host at each venue. Communications shall be available at each venue and preparations made in case it is necessary to summon emergency services.
A minimum of 4 outdoor courts is needed.
The Playing Area: The playing area consists of the court and a space around the court of 3 Meter (9′ 10″) in each direction. The space around the playing area shall be free of obstructions. The playing surface shall be reasonably level and consist of sand.
The Court: All markings shall be clearly visible. Dimensions: 16m x 8m. Dimensions shall be measured to the outer edge of the boundary lines.
Net Height; Women & Mixed: 7′ 4 1/8″ (2.24 m) Men: 7′ 11 5/8” (2.43 m)
All courts shall be free of any hazardous debris and the space around the court must be kept clear of obstacles.
Sand courts must have a consistent layer of sand of a thickness, which prevents the players from contacting any hard surface below.
The Sport Coordinator is empowered to take any measures necessary to ensure safety & fairness of play.

Men’s Doubles: Group Play preliminaries followed by a Double Elimination Finals.
Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles: Group Play preliminaries followed by Single Elimination Finals.
4-Person Team: Group Play preliminaries followed by Single Elimination finals.
Exception: For events with seven or less teams, all teams will remain in one group and places will be decided by Group Play.
This tournament will begin and finish in 1-Day.
For all events, 1 game to 21 points
GENERAL SPORT RULES for Volleyball – Beach
No substitutions permitted during a game. If a player is unable to continue playing or remain on the court during play, that team will forfeit the game.
WEATHER, DARKNESS, OR OTHER HAZARDOUS CONDITION(s): The Sport Coordinator will suspend play if any hazardous safety condition exists.
Players may not wear apparel which can cause injury to another person.
Penalty Procedure: The player must remove any such articles before playing or when noticed. If a player fails to comply with a referee’s request, that player’s team will be disqualified.
No metal spikes or cleats are allowed.
Net Height: 7’ 4 1/8” (2.24 meters) Men cannot block at the net

Medals are awarded first through third Place (1st – 3rd). A maximum of 14 sets of will be required for Beach Volleyball. USPFC will advise you of the number of sets needed based on total entries, plus a reasonable margin.

The USPFC Director assigned to your sport is knowledgeable and experienced in providing assistance during the preparation and running of the sport. Questions, a detailed accounting of your preparations, and any area requiring approval of the USPFC shall be submitted in a timely
manner to this USPFC Director.
