EVENTS

NOTE: This event is an optional sport for the Host. If the Host elects not to hold or is unable to hold this sport, USPFC may organize and conduct this sport at a different place and time.

TEAM – OPEN (18+) maximum of thirteen (13) person team plus one non-playing coach.)

Minimum 1 referee (preferred 2) per game.

NOTE: Two shall be used for Championship Games. Referees shall be either class “C” Category, U.S. Water Polo or NCAA approved.

PERSONNEL

2 Goal Judges (Game referees can fulfill this requirement.) 1 Secretary
1 Timekeeper
1 35-second clock Timekeeper

1 Scoreboard (Flip car) Scorekeeper (unless electronic score keeping is used)

MEDICAL

Basic medical supplies, such as a first aid kit will be provided by the Host at each venue. Communications shall be available at each venue and preparations made in case it is necessary to summon emergency services.

FACILITY

Facility to be used shall be suitable for Water Polo with appropriate markings and stationary or floating goals. Every effort shall be made by the Host to acquire the facility which satisfies these requirements.

Swimming Facility measuring 30 meter x 20 Meter or minimum 25 yards x 18 yards.

Field of play – minimum depth of water 1.8 M.

Pool shall be marked with. A: Goal Line

B: 2 M Line C: 4 M Line

Minimum Distance from Goal Line to end of field of play and back of goal is 30 CM.

EQUIPMENT

Game Score Record:
A: Water Polo Score Sheet

B: Ejection Sheet
C: Personal Fault Sheet

Bracket Charts (Provided by USPFC)

2 Regulation – size Water Polo Balls for each game.

Registration Station (table, chairs, stationary equipment)

Timing Device for each game (Including two [2] 35 second shot clocks)

Timekeeper whistle and/or air horn

Scoreboard -or- Score flip charts

Flags – Referees Sticks – 70 CM long with a white flag on one end and a blue flag on the other. Each flag to be 35 x 20 CM in area. (Check to see if referee can provide).

P. A. System

Benches – For team and staff seating during competition (Benches should be protected from the rain and direct sun.

Lighting – Field of play, if night games are scheduled. Player Equipment (see next page)

BRACKETING
Double Elimination (or) Round Robin if there are 12 teams or less. PLAYER EQUIPMENT

CAPS – Shall be made available to teams if teams are ill equipped. Teams caps consist in sets of Dark Blue and White (12 of each)

Each set shall be fitted with ear protectors.
Each set shall be numbered on both sides.
Each set shall be numbered 2 through 13.
Goal Keepers Caps shall be Red -or- Red and White. Goal Keepers Caps shall be numbered 1.

SUIT – Each player shall provide their own appropriate swim suit.

GENERAL RULES

  1. THE GAME

    Game shall consist of four (4) periods.
    Each period lasting six (6) minutes actual play (Stop time). Teams shall change ends each period.
    (2) minutes between each period.
    Three (3) time-outs per game per team
    One time out per Overtime per team

  2. TEAMS

    Each team shall field seven (7) players including a goal keeper and have no more than six (6) reserves. Team roster shall not exceed 13 persons with one (1) non-playing coach. A team captain shall be a playing member and be responsible for good conduct and discipline of the team members.

You will need fourteen (14) sets of medals (1st through 3rd place).

PRECISE RESULTS MUST BE FORWARDED
TO THE HOST COMMITTEE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION OF THIS SPORT

The USPFC Director assigned to your sport is knowledgeable and experienced in providing assistance during the preparation and running of the sport. Questions, a detailed accounting of your preparations, and any area requiring approval of the USPFC shall be submitted in a timely
manner to this USPFC Director.

The USPFC Directors want to work with you to make your sport a success.
