Irvine, California — 2027 USPFC Host City
In 2027, the United States Police & Fire Championships will celebrate its 60th anniversary in Irvine, California, bringing public safety athletes from across the country to the heart of Orange County for an unforgettable milestone year. Known for its exceptional parks, recreation facilities, beautiful open spaces, and convenient Southern California location, Irvine offers an outstanding setting for competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
A major centerpiece of the 2027 Championships will be Great Park, a 1,300-acre destination built on the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro. Today, Great Park is one of Southern California’s premier recreation destinations, with expansive athletic facilities, trails, community spaces, and attractions. The area also includes Great Park Ice, a world-class ice facility featuring multiple rinks and an arena. Together, these venues will provide an impressive backdrop for several events during the Championships.
There is also plenty to experience when the competition is over. Irvine offers miles of hiking and biking trails, thousands of acres of parks and preserved open space, and a wide variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Athletes and their families can visit Irvine Spectrum Center, explore the city’s diverse restaurant scene, or enjoy nearby outdoor destinations including Bommer Canyon, Quail Hill, and the San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Irvine’s central Orange County location also puts many of Southern California’s most popular destinations within easy reach. The beaches and coastal communities of Newport Beach are just a short drive away, while other Orange County attractions provide countless opportunities to extend a Championships trip into a Southern California getaway. Irvine is also conveniently located near John Wayne Airport, making travel easy for athletes and visitors arriving from across the country.
For six decades, the USPFC has brought the public safety community together through competition, friendship, and a shared commitment to service. In 2027, Irvine will become part of that history. With exceptional venues, beautiful surroundings, and the energy of Orange County as its backdrop, Irvine is ready to welcome athletes, families, and supporters for a very special edition of the United States Police & Fire Championships.
