COVID Policies and Procedures:
In order to host the 2021 US Police and Fire Championships, CPAF and the County of San Diego have agreed that all constituents – athletes, officials, staff volunteers, family, friends, vendors and guests will adhere to the following COVID Protocols.
Prior to June 15, 2021
- All constituents will be issued a credential for this year’s Championship events between June 10 and June 21.
- Friends and family who will BE attending the events can click here to submit their information for their credentials. Please fill out the form for each family member who will in attendance ages 2 and above.
- All constituents will be required to pick up their own Credentials at the Credential Center at the Four Points Sheraton, located at 8110 Aero Drive, San Diego, CA 92123.
- All constituents ages 2 and up are required to provide either visual proof of vaccination or proof a negative test prior to being given their Accreditation.
- Acceptable visual proof is the actual vaccine card or a clear photo of the vaccine card
OR
- Acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 test which can be either
- Printed document from the test provider or laboratory OR
- Email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic devices from the test provider or laboratory. The information shall include the name of the person tested, type of test, date of negative test performed (72 hours/3 days for either test).
- One negative test result is good for the entire competition period
- Before competition and entry into venues, all attendees will have their temperature taken.
- If a temperature of 100.0 degrees or higher is registered, the person will be allowed to have a second temperature scan.
- If the second scan reads a temperature of 100.0 or higher, the person will be asked to leave the premises and advised to seek medical consultation.
- In addition to the thermal reading, all athletes, staffs, officials, vendors and volunteers will be required to complete a health questionnaire each day of participation.
- Attendees will then be allowed to enter, compete or spectate within the limits of the established venue capacities once there is confirmation of their temperature reading below 100.0 and completion of the health questionnaire, where required.
- Approved constituents will receive a visual indicator of completion for each day.
Beginning June 15, 2021
Neither proof of vaccine nor proof of negative test for any constituent to compete or attend the 2021 US Police and Fire Championships.
Only Athletes, Officials, Staff, Vendors and Volunteers will be issued credentials and required to show them at check in at their venues, as per the standard USPFC Policies for past events.
Masks
Prior to June 15,
- Wearing masks over both the nose and mouth will be required by attendees at all venues with the following exceptions:
- Eating or drinking – this includes all indoor venues and outdoor venues.
- Eating and drinking will take place in designated areas.
- No eating or drinking will be allowed in any seating areas at any indoor venue.
- Athletes are not required to wear masks while actively competing on the court or field of play.
- Non-competing athletes and coaches are required to wear masks while on the sidelines or benches.
Beginning on June 15, 2021
At this time, the State of California and the County of San Diego are working to align the guidance with the CDC’s. We anticipate new information to come out in the next 10 days and will publish the guidance when we receive it.
